First off, let me start out by agreeing with the other reviewer that this place has ZERO atmosphere. If you can stand the strong crab boil smell when you walk in, I applaud you. This place seriously needs some fans/ventilation. Also, being on the beach with no blinds is a bad idea. I get that we're supposed to enjoy the view of the Mississippi Sound, but I don't like having to wear sunglasses when I'm eating dinner. It took me a minute to figure out why the place seemed so sterile...they have NO music going on in the background! I went there with a 2 other friends around 6pm on a Sunday. There were about 8 servers working and about 10 tables of guests. We were greeted and seated promptly and ordered our drinks and starters. it took us about 15 minutes to receive our starters which were fried pickles and fried mushrooms. Both were alright at best. We ordered our entrees which consisted of soup and salad for one of us and shrimp poboys for the other of us. My friend received her gumbo relatively quickly. We sat around for at least 45 minutes waiting on our entrees. In this relatively long amount of time we were trying to get refills for our drinks, but we were literally ignored by the entire staff. Finally a young girl appears to have noticed all of our glasses are empty and offers refills. About 10 minutes later we see her running food and realized she forgot our refills. This probably should have been our cue to leave. We pondered just throwing in the towel and heading next door to the Mexican restaurant where it appeared people were at least having a good time. We spent a few more minutes deciding if we should just cancel our order and leave, but by this time our 2 poboys show up. We were about halfway done with our poboys and my friends salad finally shows up. My friend asked the waitress to just take it off at this point. Our waitress asks, "Oh did you just order too much food?" Really? My friend was just tired of waiting an hour for a salad. We finish up and start waiting for the check. This is where our waitress decides its time to apologize...for being understaffed. Seriously there is an almost equal ratio of tables:servers. At this point apologies are just too little, too late. Honestly it just felt like she was just getting defensive at the terrible service. We get our check and she STILL has charged my friend for the salad. My friend has to call her over and address this. Long story short: Food is utterly forgettable, and this is probably the worst service I've ever had in my life.

Spent 30 dollars just trying to find something edible on the menu for lunch. Very disappointed. Service was ok. Burgers too small hot wings too small and the Crawfish tasteless. I wont be back. Even when I said the crawfish was bad the waitress did not take them off the ticket. I should of refused to pay and just walked out.

Wonderful for casual, traditional fried seafood. The fried dill pickles are to die for - sliced pickles instead of spears make a huge difference. Fried shrimp has always been delicious. Takeout is probably the best bet if you want a quiet meal - there are at least 2 TVs tuned to sports and the room can get loud. Great view of the Gulf, though.

Wow! I think my family and I have finally found our go-to place for seafood. I got the crawfish platter and it was very nicely prepared. Since I'm inexperienced in crawfish the waiter was more than helpful in showing me how "pull and twist." It was delicious. My daughter got the fried oysters and loved it!!! Hubby got the trio of fried gator, calamari, and shrimp. The kids got a kick out of trying all the new things. My son really put himself out there and ordered the grilled cheese and French fries. I was even impressed with that. It was a real legit grilled cheese sandwich. Not a piece of American cheese slapped between two barely toasted pieces of bread, but real ooey-gooey cheese! I was pleasantly surprised with the variety on their menu. Oh and the house margarita was a-ok!!! Great service, decent atmosphere, and they offer military discount as well. We will most definitely be back.

My sister and I walked in on a gloomy afternoon. We got a cup of gumbo and shrimp poor boys. The place was not very full so service was quick and pleasant. The gumbo was thick, hot and tasty. The poor boys were full and bread crispy my only complaint would be the fries were soggy. I would definitely go back on a nice spring day so I can sit in the open air and look at the beautiful gulf while I dine.

When I go home one of the first things I want is a poboy and a bowl of gumbo. Seeing that my folks live in Long Beach there are only a handful of places to get it and some are better than others. That said, this is probably my go-to place. They moved into a new building on the beach a while back ago and it's pretty nice. One thing that didn't make sense to me, the tables aren't high enough to look out of the windows. Why would you not take advantage of the views? Their gumbo is probably some of the best around and their poboys are also my personal favorite. Over the years since I moved, I've had about everybodys in the town and this is probably the best. The service is friendly and it's a very family oriented atmosphere. Oh yeah, AND they have Old Grandad behind the bar.

We decided to try this place due to our favorite po boy placed being closed on Sundays. We ordered to go. 2 shrimp, 1 oyster, 1 alligator po boy with fries and an order of fried pickles. The food came out very fast and the lady was friendly. I almost left without ordering due to the fact their prices for the oyster and alligator po boys in a 6" are the same as the price of a 12" at our usual spot but since they include fries with it I decided to order. When we got the food home (a short distance) the brown bags it came in were extremely saturated with grease...it was alarming. Well we dug in anyway. The oyster po boy I had was actually delicious...I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My son said the same thing about his alligator. My wife and daughter said the shrimp po boys were "pretty good" I tasted one and agreed, good but not great. The fries were terrible! No salt, no flavor, they shouldn't have bothered...they got thrown away. The pickles were extremely greasy, no crispy fried goodness at all. I guess overall I would say it is a decent place to go for po boys when our favorite place is closed which is on Sundays.

Waited forever for our food. It was good but I paid $11 for fries and 5 small alligator nuggets. And got charged .50cents for "Cajun" fries. (It was regular fries with a little bit of Toney's seasoning). Our waitress barely came to the table during our whole time there but as soon as she dropped off the checks she completely disappeared. I had to walk inside to pay. Probably won't go back.

Not a bad place. Disappointed that they were out of crawfish but enjoyed the boiled shrimps, corn and Cajun fries. Staff was friendly but on the slow side. Nice view of the of the ocean.

I agree with Kris K. The food was good but somewhat forgetful. I had the alligator sausage po boy (***1/2 stars) which came with an order of fries. What I did like about this place is that they carry aligator sausage and nuggets. The shrimp platter (***1/2 stars) had jumbo shrimp corn and potatoes but the seasoning did not have the depth or dimension I was looking for. Its not a bad place to try out.

Could see fairly quick it was a tourist trap. Everyone there was friendly though. I started out with the fried green tomato's, they looked like peanut butter cookies and were very bland. For dinner I had the combo of fried oysters and crayfish(or is it craw fish?). At that point I was pretty surprised that the oysters were really good. Nice and crispy. Almost too much batter. OTOH the crawdads were so loaded with batter, I had no idea what I was eating and none of the seafood flavor came through. They gave us free non-alcoholic drinks for being in the military which was nice. I had a bottle of the southern pecan beer, good brew for a hot humid day.

This place may not be a 5 star but this place is actually pretty good. I've been going here for years and I always get their shrimp po boy or basket. It is very fresh tasting. My husband always gets a mixed basket of fried oysters and alligator. that is really good too and drink a barqa rootbeer. Definitely go try it out! It's pretty good!

I stumbled upon this place while cruising around Gulfport and stopped in. Enjoyed the Malibu Rum Bucket and the seafood gumbo. Great view of the ocean and half off drinks during happy hour! I hate chain restaurants when I travel, so this was a great local place :)

Very clean and friendly place. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. I like the house special, which is a nice big piece of fried catfish on a bed of pasta and topped with a delicious crawfish cream sauce. My wife likes the charbroiled oysters with Parmesan and jalapenos. The seafood gumbo is the best that I have had anywhere. Period.

1 Star:Food - if you are looking for alligator meat in The Gulf area of Mississippi this is the place to be. Their Gator Wings is crispy and battered the right way. You can get it plain or with buffalo sauce; either way it's good! The Alligator Nuggets are great as well. It goes well with their special homemade dipping sauce. You can practically dipped anything with that sauce...Cajun Fries, Fried Calamari, etc...they all tastes delicious with it! 1 Star:Service - our waitress was very helpful and courteous. She answered our questions politely and very knowledgable about what they're offering. 1 Star:Price - nothing seemed over priced. The lunch and dinner menus are reasonable. They even have happy hour pricing which is great for anyone who maybe on a budget. 1 Star:Ambiance - the place was quite during lunch on a Sunday. Their setup is pretty nice and cool in the interior along with their bar. If you want to get a cool breeze, just request to be seated outside and enjoy the ocean view. The only downside is there's no TV on the outdoor patio to enjoy any NFL games. 1 Star:Cleanliness - the place is clean, you can definitely tell that the owner and staff is passionate and really care about their business and customers. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who may be visiting the area, especially those who are looking for a place to get alligator meat. I'm sold at this place and I'd highly come back again.

Gator wings were unreal. Fried green Tomato with crawfish on top excellent, really good local oysters. Would have gotten five stars if the sauteed crawfish was seasoned just a bit more and cheaper happy hour. Good service, definitely recommend.

The 6 inch Fried Shrimp is excellent. Great value for $6.95, French fries are included. Service is excellent and the owner visits the customers at the tables.

Good (as long as you know that everything on the menu is super-deep-fried). But it needs a lot more ambience! Right now the restaurant feels like a mess hall... a few nets, buoys, and other assorted nautical themed bits would go a long way towards warming up the dining room. I'd go back for the fried shrimp and fried green tomatoes any day; those were the best dishes.

I'm really not sure about this place. Maybe I'd give it two and a half stars based on tonight's visit, though I think it has the potential to be better if I'm choosy about what I order. I ordered a catfish po-boy with fries and half a dozen oysters on the half shell. The oysters were good, as they would be anywhere else along the Mississippi Coast, maybe just a bit better because there wasn't very much broken shell in them. Seems shucking oysters is a lost art. It's been a long time since I haven't had to spit out bits of shell, so when I find a place that does a fairly good job, I notice. The catfish was small for the bun. The breading was Zatarain's, or close enough as makes no never mind, and I don't mind, I actually really like Zatarain's. The bread wasn't particularly good, and they dressed it with vinegary cheap food service tartar sauce rather than a decent mayonnaise. Way too sweet. So, bad sandwich, but even with the bread, a decent mayo would've made it fine. So if I do it again, I'll be asking if they have mayo rather than that hospital cafeteria tartar sauce. Bleah. Now here's the best thing about this visit: they used fresh fry oil. That's something I've noticed about living down here. I love me some good fried seafood, but it seems every place I've tried on the coast, they fry everything in the same oil and don't change it for who knows how long. Up 'til now, if I want a decent seafood po-boy, I have to drive over to Kenney in Slidell. Everywhere else I've tried, the oil's rancid, and it just tastes nasty. Don't care how fresh your oysters are if the oil they're fried in tastes like it was dredged out of the dumpster. Maybe people on the coast are used to that sort of thing, but I just find it disappointing. When I get a po-boy 'round here, I go for the roast beef. So finding catfish fried in fresh oil was a pretty promising turnout. I hope I didn't just get lucky and hit them on the one day a month they change they oil. My wife had the pork chops. Thin, overcooked, a bit tough, nothing to write home about flavor-wise. Truck stop chops. Meh. So really the jury's out on this place. I'll have to give it another shot knowing what I learned tonight. More later.

This place has the worst service ever! Came in and waited almost 2 hours for our food. Paid $8 for an alligator app and got 5 pieces of gator. Two tables of 5 or more sat after us got their food before us. The owners are very rude and disrespectful and DO NOT value their customers. When asked why the wait was so long the owner says "Just like u had to wait at the pass parade". When we arrived they told us a 5 min wait to be seated. We waited 10 mins and decided to sit outside, she says the wait was that long because we sat outside. And when we did get our food it was not appetizing at all. Most of it was cold and bland. This will be my last time here. I only gave one star because I had to.
